DIY or Call Us?
There is a small amount of honest DIY work here, and then there is what actually requires a gate technician. On the DIY side: you can safely test whether your BFT keypad is getting power using a non-contact voltage tester, and you can check whether the gate opens from the remote (which tells us the operator itself is fine). You can also gently clean the keypad face with a dry cloth if it’s dirty.
But BFT keypads and intercom units run on low-voltage DC and communicate data to a control board. Opening the unit and probing the circuit board without knowing the pinout and the expected voltages can permanently short the board.
